Zyrtec (Cetirizine) is a medicine that is used for treating allergies, hives (urticaria), and other allergic inflammatory conditions. CETIRIZINE (Zyrtec®) is an antihistamine that helps to prevent the effects of a substance known as histamine, which is exist in the body. Thus Cetirizine is used for relieving the symptoms of different types of allergy and allergic reactions. As well as it’s used to help relieve itching and hives and other upper respiratory allergies such as stuffy nose, runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose and throat, and itchy, watery eyes. It is also used for preventing or curing chronic hives.
Take cetirizine tablet by mouth and swallow it with a drink of water. You can take this drugs with or without food. Take your doses at regular time daily. It may take a few days before your symptoms improve. Cetirizine can be applied for children from age of 2 years old.
If you miss a dose, take it when remember but if it’s time for your next dose, take only one dose. Do not take double or extra doses at one time.
