Zovirax is the medication indicated for the treatment of chickenpox, herpes, and genital herpes infections.
Before taking this medication you must know that doctor must prescribe you special doses if you have dehydratation, neurological decease, kidney decease, seizures, allergic reactions for any of the ingredients of the medication, pregnant and breast-feeding.
You must take Zovirax with a glass of water, with or without food. Take medication at regular time periods. If you miss a dose take it as soon as possible. Doctor must define your dosage or you can read about it on the prescription label.
You must take to your doctor about all medication you are taking including food supplement and herbal medication. Zovirax can interact with fosphenytoin, phenytoin, probenecid, and zidovudine.
Proper dose, which was prescribed to you individually, cannot give you side effects. But sometimes medicine cannot match patient’s body. In this case Zovirax can give side effects like skin allergies, including allergies in mouth, seizures, stomach pain, tremor, weakness and tiredness. Zovirax can also have common side effects like diarrhea, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting.
