Protonix is used for the treatment of erosion in esophagus. Erosion can be the cause of urgent surgery so better to prevent.
You must not use Protonix if you have allergy to one of the ingredients of the medication.
It is necessary to inform your doctor if you are taking any food supplements, herbal medications, if you have liver problem, pregnant and breast-feeding.
Combination Protonix with digoxin increases effect of Protonix but combination Protonix with HIV medications can reduce effect of last medicine.
If you are having treatment course with some medication you must inform your doctor and know all possible effects.
Protonix is usually prescribed like injection. It must be taken every 24 hours. If you missed a dose you must contact your doctor and get next recommendations.
Protonix as most of the medications have side effects, but it is not necessary that you will have them. This is the list of all possible side effects: blood in urine, burning in chest, brown urine, difficulty in passing urine, shortness of breathing, skin problems, yellowing in eyes and skin, headache, diarrhea, constipation and abdominal pain.
