Description
Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) is one of the most often used medicines to treat cancer in women who are at high risk of developing breast cancer and in those who have undergone surgery and radiation. It acts as an estrogen blocker on certain tumors. Nolvadex can also be used for other medical conditions.
Make sure you are not pregnant before you take the medicine as it may cause fetal harm. Do not forget to tell your doctor if you have a history of the following medical conditions: allergy to any drugs or foods, liver disease, stroke, blood clots. Ask your health care professional about your individual risks of taking Nolvadex. Try not to miss any check ups scheduled by your doctor to see your progress. Tamoxifen can interact with some other medicines (like aminoglutethimide, bromocriptine, and cimetidine), so you should tell your doctor about other drugs you are taking, both prescribed and non-prescribed. The most common side effects may be hot flashes, nausea, weakness, mood swings, headaches, depression, and libido decrease. Ask your pharmacist for further information about other possible side effects of tamoxifen.
