Naprosyn (Naproxen) is an oral medicine derived from group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and is generally used to treat inflammations, swelling, and joint pain associated with certain types of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, juvenile arthritis, spinal arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, and acute gout. It can also help to cope with menstrual cramps, as it has shown good pain killing effect.
There are certain risks of taking naproxen in some conditions as it can increase circulation problems, including heart attack or stroke. Your doctor would also like to know if you have or have had any of the following conditions: anemia, asthma, diabetes, kidney or liver disease, blood clots, ulcerative colitis, stomach ulcers, allergic reactions to any medicines or foods, pregnancy or breast-feeding. Naproxen interacts with such medicines as alendronate, aspirin, cidofovir, cyclosporine, entecavir, herbal complexes containing feverfew, garlic, ginger, or ginkgo biloba, lithium, medicines used to treat high blood pressure, medicines for blood clots, methotrexate, other anti-inflammatory drugs. You should ask your doctor about all the pros and cons of taking Napprosyn in your condition to avoid or minimize any negative side effects.
