Description
Imodium is the medication to treat diarrhea. Especially it is good for the people who travels and have this problem because of changing food.
You have to take this medication if you have diarrhea more than 1-2 days; your stool color is black; you have severe abdominal pain.
You must have special doses if you have liver decease, allergy, pregnant and breast-feeding. Before taking this medication it is advised to pass medical check up.
You must take this medication with water at regular intervals of time. You can know dosage from prescription label. This medication is used only if you have diarrhea and it is not indicated for long use.
Imodium can interact with alosetron, cholestyramin, cisapride, erythromycin, and metoproclamide. If you have treatment with this medicine you have to tell your doctor.
Imodium can have side effects and in most cases they occur because of overdose. They are blood in urine, blurred vision, muscle pain, skin problems, stomach pain. If you have these side effects you have to stop taking this medicine.
