Description
Flovent is a medicine used for preventing and reducing the frequency of bronchial asthma attacks. Flovent Aerosol Inhaler does not help during an acute asthma attack. Flovent is a remedy for prevention and treatment of asthma and chronic lung diseases. It should not be used to treat a sudden symptom of shortness of breath (eg, sudden severe onset or worsening of wheezing, cough, chest tightness) because it does not work right away. Flovent is a corticosteroid. It works by reducing inflammatory reactions in the airways in response to allergens and irritants in the air. It improves lung function and makes breathing easier by reducing airway swelling and irritation and due to muscle relaxation. To use a nose spray, gently blow your nose. Sit down and tilt your head back slightly. Place the tip of the spray container into the nose. Using a finger from your other hand, press against the opposite nostril to close it off. Breathe gently through the open nostril and squeeze the spray container. If you are using more than 1 spray, wait for 1 to 2 minutes between sprays. Do not take double or extra doses at one time. Do not take medicine if you are taking other medications. See instructions on the prescription label. Report your health care physician about extra medicines and drugs you are taking and also non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements and herbal medicines. As using other products and supplements may cause not achieving the desired effect from Flovent and moreover come to side effects from taking this medicine.
