Description
Arava is the medication, which is used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. It can be used in combination with other medication of the same group.
You must not take Arava if you have allergic reaction for this medicine.
In the case of cancer, kidney and liver deceases, lung decease and breathing problem, anemia, alcohol problem, pregnant and breast-feeding you must get extra recommendations from the doctor about dosage plan.
Arava is produced in tablets. You must swallow them whole. Do not crash or chew medication. You can take tablet with water or milk at regular intervals of time. If you miss a dose you must take it as soon as you remember.
Arava can interact with azathioprine, phenytoin, rifampin, some vaccines, tacrine, methotrexate, soniazid, and warfarin. If you have treatment course with this medication you must tell your doctor and get extra recommendation how to take medication.
Arava is usually accepted well by the patients but sometimes they have side effects like pain in stomach and swelling, breathing problem, skin problems, yellowing in eyes, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, weight loss, headache, worsening of joint pain.
